Support Piper the Airport K-9Wildlife Control at Cherry Capital Airport

Meet the Cherry Capital Airport K-9 Team

K-9 Piper is a 7-year-old, high-drive Border Collie who works as a Wildlife Control K-9 at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan. I’m Brian Edwards, K-9 Piper’s owner/handler/trainer and I’ve been at the airport as an Airport Operations Supervisor since 2008.

Together, we make up the Cherry Capital Airport K-9 team, which I started in 2014. We operate as a fully volunteer-based unit, fueled by passion, my interest in and appreciation for working dogs, and our dedication to keeping the airport safe.

Currently, our operational budget comes solely from generous donations, with all other expenses being out-of-pocket. Insurance is our greatest cost each year — not surprisingly, it’s tough to find insurance for this type of work! All that said, the operation is extremely rewarding and working with my best friend makes the commitment completely worth it.

If you find our unit interesting and worthwhile, K-9 Piper and I would be entirely grateful for your donation to help ease the burden of cost. We partnered with Traverse City-based Pup North to bring our products online, with all proceeds supporting our unit, or you may donate any amount by clicking the green Donate Now button.

Brian and PiperThank you for your support!
